CULTIVATE – Landscape Architecture is a company that is focused on collaborating with clients to achieve a unique and sustainable landscape. Tom Kerby is a registered Landscape Architect with over 20 years experience ranging from commercial developments, park master plans, to intimate scale residential landscape designs.  Most of Tom Kerby’s work has taken place in Minnesota; however he has collaborated on projects in California, Arizona, Texas, Michigan, and Colorado.

Tom’s continuing professional development has culminated into the opportunity for him to focus on residential design. It is at this scale of design that he brings his abilities and passion for garden design and architecture to achieve individualized landscape solutions in partnership with each client.

It is the mission of Cultivate to create a space that is an extension of each client’s desires, and also to create a landscape that is a deeper reflection of their unique site and individual experiences.

SERVICES:

Landscape Design Consultation for projects that do not require professional services of a Landscape Architect.

Landscape Architectural services for projects that require the professional services and signature of a licensed landscape architect.

Drafting services for clients in need of AutoCAD based drawings for submittal or presentation purposes.

PROCESS:

Schedule an appointment to meet, preferably on site.

Meet for about an hour. This provides the following opportunities:

• discuss objectives of project and required services.
• an observant walk through your property, as well as viewing it from inside.
• a discussion about ways to make improvements or changes.
• a chance to express your sensibilities and describe your lifestyle
• a brief education about the design process and timelines.
• a look at a photo portfolio of recently implemented designs.
• provision of client references upon request.

Receive your proposal within one to two weeks. This includes a contract that re-articulates the scope of the work discussed, and quotes a fee for the design and an initial deposit.

Residential non professional fees are based on a sliding scale rate per hour. (Properties located an hour or more drive from the Minneapolis/St.Paul area will be charged for driving time in one direction). Reduced rates are available for off-season development.

• MASTER PLANNING
  A comprehensive, integrated design plan for the entire property.
• LANDSCAPE DESIGN
  A solution to a specific problem and mapping of one or more specific areas.
• CONSULTATION
  An on-site meeting to address specific questions or issues. A meeting that is geared toward immediate feedback or as a place to start when a homeowner is unsure they want to go through a full design process. Tom can make observations and be a good sounding board for clients’ own thoughts about the next steps and priorities, adding insights from years of experience. This is based on an hourly fee. Cultivate does not provide installation or maintenance services.
• Commercial professional fees are based on an hourly rate which will be detailed in the final Proposal for Services .
• AutoCAD drafting services are based on an hourly rate which will be detailed in the final Proposal for Services.

After you submit the signed proposal and deposit, the design process and/or agreed upon services begins.
